Using Sticky Posts for Featured News

The Featured News section on the Newsroom page automatically displays your most important articles using WordPress’s built-in sticky posts feature.

How It Works:

• Posts marked as “sticky” appear in the Featured News section at the top of the Newsroom page
• The pattern displays the three most recent sticky posts
• Even if more than three posts are marked sticky, only the three most recent will appear

How to Make a Post “Featured”:

1. From the Posts list page, locate the post you want to feature
2. Click “Quick Edit” below the post title
3. Check the box labeled “Make this post sticky”
4. Click “Update”

Best Practices:

• Use sticky posts sparingly for truly important content
• Review your sticky posts periodically and unmark older ones
• For optimal visual appearance, featured posts should have high-quality featured images
• Keep titles concise for better display in the Featured News pattern

If you need to remove a post from the Featured News section, simply edit the post and uncheck the “Make this post sticky” option.
