Working with Images and Galleries

Adding visual elements to your website enhances engagement and helps communicate your message.

Adding Single Images

To add an image to your content:

1. Add an Image block from the block inserter
2. Click “Upload” to use a new image or “Media Library” to select an existing one
3. Once added, you can resize the image by dragging the handles
4. Use the sidebar settings to add alt text, adjust size, and more

Creating Image Galleries

For multiple images in a grid layout:

• Add a Gallery block from the inserter
• Upload images or select from the Media Library
• Rearrange images by dragging
• Adjust columns in the sidebar settings
• Choose whether to crop images to uniform sizes

Image Best Practices

• Use Alt Text: Add descriptive alternative text for accessibility
• Consider Alignment: Choose left, center, right, or wide/full alignment
• Add Captions: When helpful for context
• Responsive Design: Ensure images look good on mobile devices

Image Optimization

Image optimization is automatically applied with the WebP Express plugin. These settings can be found in the admin Settings tab.

Media Library Management

To manage all your uploaded images:

• Go to Media → Library in the dashboard
• Use filters and search to find specific media
• Edit image titles, captions, alt text, and descriptions
• Delete unused images to keep your site optimized
