Pattern Management Guide

Content Editing

Understanding Patterns

Patterns are pre-designed block layouts that help create consistent content across your site. Unlike individual blocks, patterns combine multiple blocks in a ready-to-use arrangement that matches your site design.

Finding and Using Patterns

  1. Access the Pattern Library:
    • Click the “+” button in the editor
    • Select the “Patterns” tab (may also appear as a block category)
    • Browse patterns by category (Hero, CTA, Team, etc.)
  2. Inserting a Pattern:
    • Click on a pattern to preview it
    • Click “Insert” to add it to your page
    • The pattern will appear as a collection of editable blocks

Pattern Categories

Our custom patterns are organized into these categories:

  • Hero Patterns: Top-of-page designs with headings, text, and action elements
  • Call to Action (CTA): Conversion-focused sections with buttons and compelling text
  • Team: Layouts for showcasing team members with photos and information
  • Content: General purpose content arrangements for various needs
  • Gallery: Image display options with various layouts
  • Testimonials: Customer review and testimonial display options

Customizing Patterns

After inserting a pattern, you can:

  1. Edit Text: Click on any text block to modify the content
  2. Replace Images:
    • Select an image block
    • Click “Replace” in the toolbar
    • Upload a new image or select from the media library
  3. Adjust Colors:
    • Select a block or group within the pattern
    • Use the color settings in the right sidebar
    • Apply theme colors to maintain brand consistency
  4. Modify Layout:
    • Spacing can be adjusted in the “Dimensions” panel
    • Column widths can be resized by dragging the divider between columns

Best Practices

  • Maintain Consistency: Use the same pattern types across similar pages
  • Use Theme Colors: Stick to the color palette defined in the theme settings
  • Responsive Checking: Use the preview modes to ensure patterns look good on all devices
  • Group Preservation: Try to keep pattern blocks grouped together for easier editing

Pattern-Specific Tips

Hero Patterns

  • The main heading should be concise (5-7 words)
  • Keep the subheading under 25 words
  • Use only one primary call-to-action button

CTA Patterns

  • Place CTAs strategically (mid-page or end of content sections)
  • Use action-oriented button text (“Get Started” rather than “Click Here”)

Team Patterns

  • Use consistent image sizes for all team members
  • Keep bio text length similar for visual balance
